What makes the Eco Case environmentally friendly?
The Eco Case is made from a biodegradable random copolymer called polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT). PBAT is a composite made from a range of materials such as coffee grounds, palm tree fibre and wheat-straw, designed to decompose over time.
How is the Eco Case packaged?
With the Eco Case serving its purpose, it only makes sense to make sure the packaging is recyclable too. Every case is packaged using cardboard and a small string of rope. Again, reducing waste and helping the customer join the circular economy.
How do the materials differ to the usual plastics?
The PBAT copolymer used in the Eco Case matches the performance of the usual phone case, and at times even exceeds this. Each component added to PBAT has its own attribute to improve the phone case. The coffee grounds improve the strength and elasticity of the case, giving the case its plastic, rubber-like feel. The wheat-straw adds to the stiffness and toughness of the case. Each filler is not only sustainably sourced, it improves the features of the copolymer and actually goes one step ahead to the standard case to ultimately protect the device.
Specifications
The Eco Case has a rubber-like structure which seamlessly fits in to the phone without giving that heavy feel. With the help of PBAT, the hard-back shell can absorb impact with ease. The raised edges around the perimeter of the device protect falls face-on. The elasticity makes it simple to fit the case on and off, essential to keeping the device clean. The Eco Case comes in five finishes of black, blue, green, pink and red.
