Apple Watch Trade In Preparation:
Decided to trade in your old Apple Watch with The iOutlet? Great! Here’s what you need to do to ensure a quick and easy process.
Trade in your Apple Watch with these 4 easy steps!
Step 1: Filling out the trade in form
Get a price for your watch online by using our Sell My Gadget options for the model you would like to sell, (e.g. Apple Watch Series 4 GPS 40mm) and click ‘GO’.
Next, we’ll need to know about your device’s functionality in order to get the most accurate trade in price. It’s important to select your answers correctly as our quality control team will check once received and any differences will lead to decreased value.
To finish, select how you would like to receive your funds, opting for the ‘iOutlet Gift Voucher’ will give you a slightly better valuation, which is perfect if you are looking to upgrade to a new device via our shop such as the series 5 Apple Watch or even a refurbished iPhone.
Once you have your instant quote, complete the information form with a little bit about yourself and you are ready to trade in your device!
Step 2: Unpairing your Apple Watch from your iPhone
This step is probably the most crucial when sending in your watch to keep the process running as quickly as possible. To ensure this step is completed correctly, please keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together.
Open your watch app on your iPhone, select the ‘My Watch Tab’ and tap ‘All Watches’. Next, you will need to tap the info button which is next to the watch you want to unpair. Once you have selected the watch you would like to remove, tap ‘Unpair Apple Watch’, and once more to confirm. If your Apple Watch is connected to an Apple ID, you will need to enter the password to disable ‘Activation Lock’, this is a vital step in preparing your device for trade in, and would be advised to double-check that the password is entered correctly and the activation lock is removed.
Step 3: Unpairing your Apple Watch without your iPhone
If you do not have an iPhone to unpair your device, don’t worry, you can still remove all data from your device.
Using a computer or laptop, head over to www.icloud.com/find, enter the Apple ID email address and password for your Apple Watch. Select ‘All Devices’ and select the device you want to erase. Click ‘Erase Apple Watch’ and select ‘Next’ until the device has been erased, then click the ‘X’ button which is located next to your Apple Watch.
The final step would be to return to your Apple Watch, tap the Settings app, select ‘General’, scroll down to ‘Reset’, and select ‘Erase All Contents and Settings’.
Step 4: Send your Apple Watch to us and get paid!
Given the current climate, we would appreciate it if you could clean the device prior to sending it off to us.
The last step would be to package your device up with some protection to avoid any potential damages along its journey to us. Drop off your device at your local Royal Mail depot.
After that, sit back and relax, as we take care of the rest. You will receive email prompts of your device’s journey through our network, and payments to your preferred destination will be completed no longer than 24 hours after we receive your device.
