1. Use iPhone screen protectors
One addition we always recommend to extend the life of your refurbished iPhone is a screen protector. How many people walk around with their iPhone in amongst car keys, loose change and far worse. Every step will bang the phone screen into those objects with damage and scratches being made. Replacing your iPhone screen will cost you every time or just a one-off purchase of a £4.99 screen protector will keep it looking like new. Surely a no brainer? Buy your screen protector here.
2. Cleaning the charging port
Another regular occurrence for iPhone’s is fluff and debris building up in the charging port. This can be anything from fluff to crumbs found in the bottom of pockets or handbags.
It was easier to see in the old style 30 pin ports and took longer to cause issues but with the 9 pin lightening port on more modern iPhones, this can happen quickly. Once the debris is there it will stop the charger being able to touch the pins inside and therefore not charge. The casing of the charger should be flush with the iPhone casing, if it isn’t, this indicates a blockage. More info about how to clean your iPhone charging port can be found here.
3. Get your battery replaced
How many people leave their battery to charge overnight and then heavily use all day? Is it any wonder our battery life shortens rapidly. There is a solution. All of our devices sold come with a minimum 75% of original manufacturers capacity but if you want more, you can add a new battery replacement for just £15-£25 depending on the device. We can also replace the battery on any of your iPhone devices for just £25. After an hour you’re back up to 100%.

5. Get rid of unused apps and close them correctly
How many of the apps on your iPhone do you actually still use? That game everyone downloaded and now no one plays or the currency converter you have for the 1 week abroad you spend per year. Why not clear that space for extra songs or more photos. You can almost save money by not having to upgrade to the bigger capacity size if you are more smart with your space. People don’t hoard at home but they do on their iPhone.
When you’re done with the app, if you only use the home button to exit it, it is still running in the background and using battery to run. To completely stop them, on an iPhone with a home button, double click and swipe up to clear them. On an iPhone with no home button, hold down on the screen and swipe up an inch. Then swipe up to clear as before. You should start seeing an improvement in battery life.
